Before choosing ingredients, we define the job of the product—whether that means cleansing effectively, maintaining moisture, supporting comfort, improving manageability, or creating lasting freshness.
A well-designed formula depends on ingredients performing different roles together. We look beyond a single “hero” ingredient and consider how the entire system performs as one.
Performance also means creating products people want to use. Texture, spreadability, rinse, absorption, scent, and skin or hair feel all matter when we evaluate the finished formula.

Spring Gene grew from an idea that has followed founder Dr. Sayed Ibrahim throughout his career: traditional ingredients can become more useful when they are understood through modern formulation science.
With a PhD in organic chemistry and decades of experience developing personal and oral-care products, his approach combines an appreciation for botanicals and traditional practices with the precision required to build a complete, modern formula.
We do not simply recreate traditional routines. We look for thoughtful ways to adapt their inspiration to how people live today.

Each category requires a different approach. The purpose changes, but the way we think about building the formula does not.
Oil pulling has traditionally existed as a separate step from brushing. Spring Gene approached that routine differently.
